On 17th April 2016, a new chapter was begun in story of Leather Wales and the Rise of the Leather Dragons with the establishment of The Leather Social: Cardiff.

The Leather Social is a well established event in London, having started in the spring of 2013, and recently in Berlin.

It has the aim of bringing together those with an interest in gay leather. Ever since those early days, an event has been held monthly at the famous Compton’s bar in London’s Soho district.

LeatherWest was proud to be able to work in association with The Leather Social to bring this event to Cardiff as part of Mr LeatherWest’s (Dave from Cardiff) work to develop and build the leather community in south Wales. The Eagle Cardiff was the location for this anticipated event, offering their usual blend of warm hospitality and sexy surroundings.

Leather, drinks, mates, chat – what more for a Sunday afternoon?

With the focus on meeting like minded guys in a welcoming environment, the first Leather Social: Cardiff got off to a great start. Although there is no expectation from a dresscode on what to wear, many guys choose to gear up and so there was a horny mix of BLUF, biker, pup and leather lite. Guys enjoyed having a relaxed point with other gearheads and chatting over a pint or two. It was fantastic to see good friends of LeatherWest attending along with those new to the leather community and the conversation flowing easily.

There was definitely the sense of starting something new. Guys were already thinking about how to make The Leather Social: Cardiff part of their Sunday afternoons, with talk about a pre-event Sunday lunch in the future. After the event, guys went on to grab a bite to eat in one of Cardiff’s many restaurants before returning to The Eagle to carry the rest of the evening – a second shift if you like!
