BLUF Bristol celebrates its 2nd birthday this October!
It’s also the 16th anniversary of BLUF’s foundation, launched as an internet-club back in 1997 and seeing the first BLUF party in San Francisco in 1998.
BLUF Bristol has built a reputation as one of the most social and fun full-on leather nights in the UK, with a following that has built up, not just here in the LeatherWest region, but as far away as Scotland and Ireland.
The last event in March saw BLUF men flying into town from all “corner of the isles”, swelling local numbers and filling a bar wall-to-wall with leather - described as “..a sea of Muir caps, boots and gloves.”
Building on the success of the two events during the winter, the local BLUF team have released the date for the next meet on Saturday 19th October at The Den, Bristol’s very own dedicated leather and fetish bar in the heart of the Old Market Quarter.
BLUF will have exclusive use of the bar from the 9pm opening until a late 4am. “It’s what the guys were asking for. Just the way they like it”, BLUF tell us. So, we can expect a complete, 100 per cent, wall-to-wall, bar bursting leather man’s event.
The event is ticket entry only, so you’ll need to register on the BLUF Website to get onto the guest list (remember the website is members only access, alternatively contact BLUF Bristol by e-mail here if you are not yet a member).
The event is open to BLUF members only. However, following custom, guys whose membership is pending or guests of members who meet the strict full-on dresscode will be able to attend. Contact BLUF for more information.
BLUF Bristol say that “…we like to ensure that the bar is not over-packed or too warm, allowing guys to have an exclusive space where they can circulate and cruise guys, while wearing their layers of leather and caps all night long. Just what guys are looking for!”
With keen interest being shown from across the UK and beyond, it’s advised to register now before the event if full - as was seen in March when the event ‘sold out’ a week before.
Doors open at 9pm, with exclusive entry to BLUF meet attendees until 4am, The venue is open as a private private venue all night.
Not a member? BLUF Bristol tell us that people are welcome to join. Advice on the entry dresscode requirements can be found at the BLUF website. “There’s plenty of guys in the area wanting to join, so we’ll be approaching them. Already we have four prospective members in Cardiff and several around Bristol and in Devon,” says BLUF Bristol’s SBerg. Alternatively e-mail to ask for advice.
If you have the gear, what’s stopping you? Not much. Except, you’ll miss out on a great night in the company of friendly social guys in their leather finest - guys just like you!
BLUF Bristol have also alhve plans for further events during the winter 2013/2014. The group intends to increase its meets to three a year. Bristol Uniform, Mark, from BLUF Bristol said, “We’ve had such great feedback and there’s demand for more than two meets a year. There’s certainly the appetite for it and we are happy to satisfy that demand and local need.”
Increasing BLUF Bristol’s number of meets by 50% is a sure sign that interest is keen and numbers looking healthy. LeatherWest will be at BLUF’s next meet so look out for a full report - with plenty of pictures!
