Bristol Icon Goes All “Leather Pride”
Leather Pride Gromit by Clive of Cheltenham.
Gromit, one of the beloved icons of Bristol, has suddenly come over all ‘leather pride’ thanks to the skills of a local leathermen in the West.
Clive, based in Cheltenham, spotted a competition where by entrants were asked to paint their own Gromit for a chance to go on public display during the Summer. Thinking of a theme, Clive, struck on the idea of a Leather Pride Gromit!
And what a great idea!
Our cool, laid-back, cute animated Bristol icon looks right at home in his leather pride flag colours.
If selected, Clive of Cheltenham’s creation will appear at a public exhibition at the Gromit Unleashed pop-up store at Cribbs Causeway shopping mall from late May until the end of June. We’ll let you know straight away if ‘Leather Pride Gromit’ has been selected to go on display, so you can go along and see for yourself in the window of the store!
Already causing a bit of a stir on Facebook, Google+ and Twitter, Clive has already had an inquiry from a London based leathermen to buy his Gromit. Meanwhile, others are saying they’d “love one” too. Watch out Clive, you might have a bit of a production line going there soon!
Can you give me contact details, @LeatherWest? That would make a perfect gift for someone I know. @BrstlFetishCrew @CribbsCauseway

Now we’re thinking at LeatherWest what could be next: Wallace in biker gear? The mean looking wayward robotic canine Preston in true Tom of Finland style? And you can stop right there if you think you can do something with Shaun the Sheep!
