Leather arrives with a bang for the week long Bristol Pride festival, voted the UK’s second ‘Best Pride’. With the Leather film night, socials, ‘being on parade’ and pitching up at the fair on Castle Green, LeatherWest is encouraging Leather Men to enjoy the #FreedomtoWearLeather!
Also, a welcome return of that classic summer leather event ‘Leather Wild West’. A must attend event for denim and leather cowboys, where there will be something for every leather man as well as for those wanting to join the gay mens’ leather community.
Sunday, 6th July | Leather Film Night | 8pm
The week kicks-off with a special showing at the Watershed on Bristol’s harbourside of “Age of Consent“.
Released this year, it tells the story of gay history taking you through the seminal events that shape our community. From the decriminalisation of the 1960’s through to the present day phenomenon of mobiles apps and internet dating.
Set in London’s Hoist club, that infamous temple to leather, this is a no holds barred, graphic film that makes no apologies! If there’s a line that steals the show it’s got to be “If this sling could talk….”. You know exactly what that means - go ahead and chuckle!
Pride Bristol, LeatherWest and BLUF Bristol welcome and encourage all leather men and lads to slap on some leather and join in for a first in the West: a leather film night out! However, since this is a public screening in a public venue, please show some modesty - no naked butts or nips! Book your tickets here and join your leather mates down at the Watershed. Sunday, 6th July | Leather Film After Party | 10pm-midnight
It’s all back to the Bristol Bear Bar after the Watershed film showing to celebrate the start of Leather in Bristol Pride. We’re being hosted by our friends Steve Keating and the team at Bristol Bear Bar. See Facebook event page here.
A great opportunity to meet-up with your leather friends, make new ones and mix-it up with the Bristol Pride organisers and regulars at the Bear Bar! Co-hosted by LeatherWest and Bristol Pride.

Saturday, 12th July | Leather On Parade | Gather at 11.00am
For the first time ever there will be a leather contingent in the parade of Bristol Pride, organised jointly by LeatherWest and our friends over at BLUF Bristol.
The London Pride March this weekend, saw a few ‘Leathermen of the West’ lending their support to our London leather brothers, which was great. It’s now time to show Bristol and the west we’are here and we are proud! Come and march with us!
The theme for leathermen in this year’s parade is #FreedomToWearLeather. This LeatherWest initiative is already capturing the imagination of a fair few leather guys locally in the UK and as far away as the US,
Mexico and Australia.
So come along, bring your leather pride flags (LeatherWest has a few in stock for you!) and wear your leather with pride!
Gathering at 11am in Queens Square (you couldn’t make that one up!) look out for the Leather Pride flag. The parade sets off from the square at 11.30am, along the harbourside, then along Baldwin Street up to Castle Green. Duration no more than 1/2 hour. We have been asked by Bristol Pride to adhere to a dresscode involving no naked butts (or other intimate areas!) . So if you’re planning to wear chaps, it is leather or denim underneath. Saturday, 12th July | Leather Pitch & Tent | 12 noon-5pm
Look out for LeatherWest’s pitch & tent on Pride Day.
Again, another leather first - the third in just week during Bristol Pride! LeatherWest will have a “black leather gazebo” (well, not leather but certainly black!) and pitch at the afternoon long Pride Day festival in the Community area.

Yes, the summer leather event is back with a bang at a new venue. We’re lucky to have The Phoenix Bar hosting us. Beer garden and rooms booked, reading for leather cowboys to mosey on down! Have a look at what happened last year! The Wild West - it’s a land where men tame nature and look darn sexy doing it! Who doesn’t admire a rugged man in tight jeans

And if he’s wearing leather chaps and a fitted leather waistcoat over a ripped shirt that exposes just enough chest – well, we’d certainly hitch a ride on his wagon!
